Mountain Moving FaithSample
2013 was a year of transition for me as I moved from my day job to my dream job. I remember thinking I didn’t want to get ahead of God or mess up His plans for me. I had to bring my faith and trust in His prompting to leave my full-time career at a Christian Radio station. At His first nudge, I was hesitant. I considered leaving everything I knew, that was familiar and comfortable. I took an entire year to pray boldly and wait on God to unfold His plan. Even though I didn’t know the whole picture, I knew enough to submit my trust first.
Stepping out to find out what God has for you is one of the most challenging steps we make as His children. Sometimes it feels like we’re standing in front of a mountain. We need to rest more on His capable plans and trust He is always working for us to grow our faith and to bear His fruit. Plus, we need grace to keep on praying bold prayers.
In times like these, we need mountain moving faith. To possess this kind of faith, we must place our trust in God and pray for Him to move the obstacles ahead. As we ask in boldness for God to make a way for His plan for us, we must back up our words with action. Faith plays a huge part in our relationship with God as we seek Him with our trust. It’s all about our faith and trust we have in God to move on our behalf.
Learn to put aside the uncomfortable feeling of messing up God’s plan and refuse to think you’re making a mistake. If the prompting is from God, He’s never misunderstood. He’s clear and direct. He’s equipped you with grace and strength to follow Him in this new venture. Reject fear. Fear is that familiar opposition that presents itself in a fancy tuxedo in your belief system and tries to stop you from trusting in God’s goodness.
“Faith doesn’t mean you don’t get afraid. Faith means you don’t let fear stop you.”—Craig Groeschel
Take your fears and concerns to the Lord. Prayer keeps us obedient to God’s Word, it also guards from discouragement. As you are still before Him, He will confirm His word, “It’s not what you’re leaving, but Who you are following." Make your faith move.
