Reflections On HopeSample
I’m grateful to God that I was drawn to a wonderful passage of Scripture found of all places in the book of Lamentations chapter 3:22- 23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.”
One of keys to any crisis is to face one day at a time. Don’t look too far ahead. God gives us new mercy and grace every day. You have enough grace to get successfully through today, but you don’t have grace for tomorrow. As you take one day at a time you will find you have enough of God’s mercy and help to get you through today, then tomorrow, then the next day for as long as is necessary. Always remember you are stronger than you think, smarter than you realise and more loved by God than you could ever imagine.
Another key is the word expectation, which can be seen as similar to faith. The Bible says in Matthew 9:29 (KJV) “according to your faith be it unto you.” We tend to get in life what we expect or believe will happen. I want to encourage you to have a positive expectation, that with God’s help you can successfully come through stressful situations in good heart and in great shape. Expect God to do amazing things during this time. Have a positive and not a negative expectation. Romans 8:28 (NKJV) “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” God is always working for your good and for the good of each day – his working will be there.
You will get through all stressful situations and come out stronger, closer to God and others.
