Blind Frames Vs. Vision Frames
Vision is a gift that most of us take for granted. Right now, you are reading this on a screen and there are over fifty million people around the world that couldn't see these words. But even though we're blessed with physical vision, many people are spiritually blind.
When we're spiritually blind we see the wrong things as right and the right things as wrong. Romans chapter 1 describes this blind frame phenomena of how people became blind even though they knew who God was. We are living in a culture where we see these verses being lived out right in front of our eyes. People are worshipping the creation instead of the Creator. Doing the right things are considered lame and cringy, while doing the wrong things is considered cool and celebrated.
The scary thing about blind frames is that people believe they are exactly where they are supposed to be. An example of that from scripture is Saul. He was a religious leader that was passionately persecuting Christians that were declaring Jesus was the Messiah. Saul was furious. According to his studies, there was no way the Messiah could have come, and he had missed it. Saul was sincere but sincerely wrong. As he went around the city arresting Christians, he found out many of them were scattered to other places. He went to the high priest to get arrest warrants to go to local cities, arrest them, and throw them into jail.
Then, the unexpected happened. In Acts, chapter 9 as he was on his way to Damascus to stop these Jesus followers… Jesus stopped him. Saul had an epiphany that he was on the wrong team. The irony at that moment was that he was physically blinded, but spiritually his blinders were lifted.
I know some of you reading this might be thinking, "God could never use me in big ways because I've messed up in some major areas." Wait, what? Did you just catch what happened with Saul/Paul? Let me recap if you don't know the full story. He went from being a Christian persecutor to a Christian preacher. He went from taking people's lives to giving people new life in Christ. This guy who was known for arresting and killing Christians went on to write the majority of the New Testament. When your blind frames are lifted, anything is possible with God!
