Chosen to Be a Miracle!Sample
Do you want to be healed?
Here is Jesse’s story…
My life has always been complicated. Ever since I had that accident when I was little and lost my ability to walk, I've felt like a burden to others. It's so hard not being able to move!
When my younger brother, Simon, decided to leave me to join the Zealot movement, I felt like my whole world was falling apart again. What was to become of me? My heart was broken. All I wanted was to walk again!
That's why I went to the Pool of Bethesda. They said that from time to time, an angel came down to stir up the waters, and the first person who got into the waters was healed.
The first year it happened, I didn't make it into the water first because I didn't have anyone to help me. The second year, the same thing happened, and the third year, it happened yet again...I still can't believe I spent 38 years of my life in that place!
Yes, I knew the pool was a heathen place and that the movement of the waters was surely just a natural effect rather than an angel. Besides, it was grotesque to see us pushing, shoving, and stepping on each other to get to the water first. But I was so desperate for a miracle! I needed something to give me even a glimmer of hope.
One day, however, something did happen. Someone I didn't know came directly to me and asked me, "Do you want to be healed?" I explained that I had no one to help me get into the water, but He told me that pool had nothing for me.
Deep down, I knew He was right. When He asked me again if I wanted to be healed, I nodded. A few simple words from His mouth changed my reality forever: "'So, let's go. Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.'" (adapted from John 5:8, NKJV) Suddenly, I realized that I had feeling in my legs again. It couldn't be!
Laughing, I stood up as best I could, trying to take in the miracle that was happening at that moment. After 38 years of being paralyzed, I was walking again! Jesus of Nazareth healed my legs that day, but most of all, He healed my heart. He pulled me out of the meaninglessness I lived in and gave me a new beginning.
Today, I walk again in God's will.
My name is Jesse, and I have been chosen by Jesus.

Perhaps you, too, feel that you've wasted a large part of your life doing things that have gotten you nowhere. But today, Jesus is at your side, and He is also asking you, "Do you want to be healed?" He wants to heal your heart, and He wants you to be with Him always so that you have purpose and His light shines through you.
