Humility: Your Power Tool of LoveSample
Turn On Your Power of Humility
To turn on a power tool, you merely need to flip the switch from OFF to ON. Likewise, it is necessary to know how to turn on humility, your power tool of love. Jesus used a little child as an example of humility that brings greatness in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:4 AMPC reveals four basic character traits that you should turn on to exemplify the humility of a little child. They are: trusting, lowly, loving, and forgiving.
As little children would unwaveringly trust their parents, you likewise should be trusting Father God without question. You should remain lowly by being gentle with others and submissive to God’s will and not being snobbish, high-minded, and resistant to God. Your thoughts, actions, and attitude should be loving by feeling and showing care for others. Your heart should remain forgiving by overlooking and letting go of all actual and perceived offenses of others against you and also forgiving yourself of mistakes.
No builder forgets where the ON switches are located on their power tools because the switches are used frequently. From this day forward, it is wise to commit those four character traits of humility to memory. Trusting, lowly, loving, and forgiving should become your frequent switches to turn on humility, your power tool of love. I suggest that you make this an earnest prayer for several weeks.: “Heavenly Father, I commit to trusting you throughout this day regardless of circumstances. Please give me the words and attitude to remain lowly in Your sight and the sight of others. I desire Your heart of love to show compassion to those around me. Please fill me with mercy that will cover any offense that comes my way. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.”
