DAY 4 OF 6

Have you killed time before?

Have you ever missed an opportunity or an open door? I have, and it was so painful. The Bible says, “because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.” (1 Corinthians 16:9, NIV)

I believe God opens doors and closes doors: “...‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.”’” (Revelation 3:7, NKJV) These doors come in the form of relationships, promotions, or even adversity. Every challenge or setback can be an opportunity for growth, progress, pruning, or promotion. Someone once said that every trial can become a trophy. Yes! I have a bunch of trophies. What about you?

Have you been through tribulation lately? Has this virus and the lockdowns tried to destroy you? I know you may feel this way, but it’s not personal. We’re all going through this trial together, and we will grow through it by the grace and power of God.

Will you start declaring this every day? “God, I’m going to grow through this. I will prosper and be smarter and stronger. God, I pray all my friends and family make it through these times of uncertainty. The world may feel uncertain, but I’m confident that You will help me through.”

I’ll never forget the dark days of our son’s battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome. It was a horrible disease that cut his high school basketball career short and seemed to ruin any prospect of a college career. It almost killed him, but my nephew was visiting us from Canada. He was a young doctor who just happened to diagnose the disease and help our son get help. Oh, and God healed him. Isn’t that incredible?

Trials come and go, but God is always faithful. He will help you take every situation, every trial and lockdown, and bring good out of it. Didn’t Paul say in the Word, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NIV)?

He’ll do it because you are a miracle.
