It Is Time to Recover All That You Lost

DAY 2 OF 6

David was being hunted down by Saul, and he decided to break away and take 600 of his men to join Ashish, the King of Gath. He settled in the town of Ziklag with his two wives.

David and his men spent time raiding the enemies of the Philistines, and they were ruthless, not keeping even one person, or animal alive.

In 1 Samuel Chapter 30, David and his men come home to Ziklag, and upon arrival, they see smoke and fires, and everything was burnt to the ground by the Amalekites.

Nothing was left; they took all the livestock, women, and children as slaves, even David's two wives.

1 Samuel 30:6 AMPC

David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

One of the most important keys is that David went to the Lord to be strengthened, not for direction. He built himself up in faith; David repented and chose to glorify God. He humbled himself and brought to remembrance all the former victories that God established for him.

Jude 1:20 AMP

But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit.

Vital Keys to learn today:

1. Spend time in prayer (praying in tongues)

2. Speak to your soul (do not camp in your soul)

Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Build a relationship with the Holy Spirit; He is our Comforter. We know the Spirit, but perhaps not well enough. When all the comforts of this world fail us, He is still there.

We so easily get distracted, disheartened, filled with all sorts of fearful thoughts. Most of the time, we live in our soul realm.

In Psalm 103:1- 5 AMP, David speaks to His soul:

Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, And all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name. Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits; Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle.

Prayer:

Lord, I quiet my soul right now. I take authority over every thought and the fear that brings turmoil within me. I look to you and fix my eyes on You. I recall every miracle you have done in my life. (Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you, if you forgot about previous victories)

I Glorify Your Holy Name and exalt you above every circumstance. My Lord and My God, fill my heart with tender mercies and quench my thirst with Your living waters. I long to be close to you. Give me a desire to walk close to you. May I never wander away from Your presence. I want to walk in the way You've set out for me, Lord. I can experience peace as Your Spirit covers me like a blanket. I treasure You, my God. All earthly things grow strangely dim, as Your Presence is become my fortress. Tonight as I sleep, will you give me clarity and guidance about my future.

Thank you, Jesus, Amen.
