Victory Over Your Sugar CravingsSample
Morning Routine and Food Labels
When you wake up in the morning…how do you start your day? Do you eat a healthy breakfast, or do you grab something quick and run out the door? Do you take time to be quiet and talk with God? Or…are you rushed to get out the door and think I will catch up with God tonight before bed, only to fall asleep too soon?
To kick your sugar habit, you must change your morning routine. A morning routine that sets you up for success may sound simple but having the RIGHT routine could be the difference between success and failure.
First thing in the morning drink 8 oz of water. After that, you can have your morning coffee…BUT…do not add sweeteners. A well-balanced breakfast of fruit, a nutritious smoothy or an egg with some toast and avocado will get you started off right. There are great recipes on our website (www.faithfulworkouts.com) for healthy coffee creamers and quick breakfast ideas.
But before you walk out the door to begin your day, you need to be sure to do one more thing. The MOST important thing. Fill your morning with God to give the rest of your day a different look. Your mind will be renewed with peace, joy, and hope. This is the time to ask God for his help to keep you steadfast in your quest to stop your sugar cravings. He will guide you through your day and be available at a moment’s notice to help you not give in to your craving.
Spending time with God and in His Word can put everything into perspective. Your soul will be filled, and your stress can be replaced with His peace. Lean on Him to help you and give you the strength throughout your day.
We talked about eating no more than 24 g of sugar each day. Watch the video to learn from Michelle how to read food labels to learn how many sugars are found in your food. You might be surprised to see how much sugar and chemicals you didn’t know you were eating each day.
Prayer:
Lord, help me remember that nothing is going to happen today that You and I together cannot handle together. I need your help throughout the day to guide me. Amen
Challenge:
1. Drink 8 oz of water before your coffee (with no sugar or artificial sweeteners) and eat a healthy breakfast
2. Spend time with God and in His Word.
3. Read your food labels. Pay attention to “added sugars” and the ingredients list. If you don’t know what the
word is…don’t eat it. Go through your kitchen and pantry and remove all those added sugars.
