Whose Am I? Part 2Sample
Take Time to be Holy
Sanctification is a process.
To sanctify is to be set apart for God’s special pleasure and use. It is to consecrate, devote to God, things, or people for His service. It implies holiness, being separated from the corruption of the world, for God’s use.
The process of sanctification is the work of God in us and through us, based on the truth of His Word. Sanctification is the Word of God read, heard, understood, and applied. “The more truth you believe, the more sanctified you will be. The operation of truth upon the mind is to separate a man from the world unto the service of God.” (Spurgeon).
God’s Word transforms and sanctifies us, protecting our minds from lies and unbelief, growing us in righteous attitudes. As we dwell on His Word, we grow in good deeds (Ephesians 2:10), godliness (1 Peter 1:15), Christ-likeness (1 Peter 2:21) Through the process of sanctification, we ‘press on’ by laying hold by faith on the promises of God (Philippians 3:12), striving according to his indwelling resources (Colossians 1:29).
Are you taking time to be holy, spending much time in secret with Jesus alone, to feed on and trust in His Word?
Lord wash me with Your Word and cleanse me, I pray.
