Rest With Your Finances

DAY 1 OF 3

Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, ‘’The Lord your God is giving you rest, and will give you this land.’’ Joshua 1:13, NASB

Notice, God gives rest and the land (or the breakthrough). He provides both, and they are to be enjoyed. Yet many Christians act as if rest shouldn’t happen or feel guilty for taking time off.  Some may even think if you aren’t working, you’re lazy, right?

It’s easy to believe that we have to work hard in our own strength to make anything happen.  As a result, we don’t dare to rest.

God gives us rest, but it takes faith to receive it. When presented with the idea of taking a Sabbath day each week, many seem to think that it just isn’t possible. There is too much that needs to be done. And resting kind of sounds like something lazy people do.

But what if God has set it up so that when we step out in faith by resting—even when it doesn’t make sense—we actually get more done? Or maybe “getting more done” isn’t the best way to say it; maybe “getting the right things done” is a better way to say it.

What if God has given you one day a week to rest, enjoy him, and do literally no work, including your checklist or to-do lists.  This is simply an invitation to trust that as we rest that he will work out all the financial cares on our minds.

Could it be that opportunity is available to you?

Dan 2

About this Plan

Rest With Your Finances

When you think about finances, do you think rest? Or do you get an anxious feeling? Maybe you feel flustered or shameful or even prideful? Most everyone we speak with has an initial gut reaction to this topic, but as Christians, we know God has called us to rest in all areas. So we want to explore what it looks like to rest when it comes to your finances.
