Stretched Out: Finding Rest in His Presence

DAY 1 OF 5

The Balm In Gilead

I can only imagine the pain that Jesus Christ must have felt and endured on the cross for us.  The Father's love for us is so great that He has provided a way, a place, a Savior for each one of us to find rest and peace in. The Prophet Isaiah prophesies our Messiah's crucifixion and says these words in Isaiah 53:5, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes, we are healed." There is an old song that says "there is a Balm in Gilead", taken from Jeremiah 8:22. "Is there no Balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of My people recovered?" That Balm is Jesus Christ and His sweet Spirit. It is in Him that we truly have what this dying world needs.

Wounds left unchecked, tended to, and treated properly will never heal properly. The deeper and more severe the wound, the longer it will take to heal and the greater the risk it has of becoming infected and causing issues to other parts of the body. Wounds that we ignore and never allow or know how to get healing for will manifest in our lives in SOME way. It is inevitable. We were not meant to walk around with unhealed wounds. In the same way that our physical bodies

There is one thing I've learned over my years, and that is that we will all be hurt or wounded in some way throughout our lives, and we will also hurt or wound others. Most of us never intend on hurting anyone, and we certainly never intend on leaving anyone with a wound. I just believe that about humanity.

When we experience hurt, whether it results in a wound or just pain, we must find our rest, yes, even our peace in Jesus Christ and in His presence as a part of the healing process. There is a BALM IN GILEAD and He is the deliverer from every sin, sickness, disease, illness, hurt, wound, or infirmity. He is the Healer of emotional, physical, and even mental affliction. You no longer have to be someone that you were never meant to be or act out in ways you were never meant to because of unchecked wounds that STILL HURT. You no longer have to try to ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINE. You can only hold that pose for so long, my dear friend before it becomes tiring to try and be something you are not. But, there is a BALM IN GILEAD. There is one who is the HOPE OF GLORY!

There is a PLACE OF HEALING, and it is in His presence!

Let me direct you to the "place of healing". I've been there! Over and over again, the Spirit of the Lord has welcomed me, and yes even drawn me into sweet fellowship with Him, where there is fullness of joy! OH!,  It won't always be easy to get there, But if you will just surrender, He is the BALM.

He is The Healer you've been looking for.
