"David's Confidence"

There are battles each and every day that we engage in. Some are financial, others are relational, and some of us struggle within the battlefield of our very minds. We are often frustrated by these attacks and call out to God to save us from the harm that is coming our way. But, the truth is that whenever we are in a season of great favor and promotion, there will also be an attack on that promotion that tries to hinder our effectiveness in the Kingdom of Heaven. David was a man who saw right through the devil’s schemes and pressed into the Lord for his supernatural provision.

God had great plans for David and decided at a young age he would be appointed king over all of Israel. As soon as David received his promotion, the devil set out to destroy the impact David was about to have for the kingdom of heaven. Throughout David's entire journey from lowly shepherd to King, he learned to trust in the Lord and not lean on his own strength. This trust would not dwindle now that he reached an esteemed title. David put his confidence in the Lord and moved into battle with faith, knowing the God who had brought Him this far would not leave Him.

When battles come our way, it is vital that we enter the "stronghold" (5:17) and find our confidence from the divine plan He gives us. For some of us, it might be to "go ahead and fight" (5:19) and for others it might simply be to “be still and let him fight for you.” (Exodus 14:14)

Take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit into your battle and ask Him to give you a plan that will invigorate you with confidence to live out your calling like David did!
