Division & Diversion

DAY 2 OF 5

Division and Diversion - Satan’s Scheme by Bryan Craig

DAY TWO

Scripture: “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.'”  Matthew 12:25 NIV

Thought:  The Pharisees were accusing Jesus of driving out demons through the power of the prince of demons.  He says this is ridiculous.  The Kingdom of God is in opposition to the kingdom of Satan.  But He makes a greater statement about God’s Kingdom being one of unity.  Believers in Christ all have the same Holy Spirit, the same Lord, the same faith, and Jesus wants us to be one, as He is one with the Father and the Spirit (see John 17).

Families that are divided end up in ruin.  Friendships that are divided cannot continue.  Churches that are divided end up in a church split.  Companies that are divided end up failing.  Cities and countries that are divided are weakened.

Application:  We must ask ourselves where we are being divided…in our thoughts, in our marriages, in relationships, in our ministries?  Let’s ask the Holy Spirit for truth and light to be shed on this in our lives and write down what we see in our journals.

Are we peacemakers and unifiers in our spheres of influence?  Where are we vulnerable?

Response:  What is the Holy Spirit asking us to do?  Is there someone with whom we need to ask forgiveness?  Is there someone to whom we need to extend forgiveness?

Let’s write a prayer to the Holy Spirit, asking Him to help build bridges of understanding, grace and peace between us and others he has placed in our life.

About this Plan

Division & Diversion

Two major strategies Satan pursues in his mission to steal, kill and destroy in our lives are those of Division and Diversion... These are clear and present dangers that every believer should be aware of and equipped to deal with. In this plan we'll look at scriptures that pertain to these threats and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us into truth about how to defeat them.
