DAY 5 OF 6

The Beauty

In the story of the human race, God creates Adam, but something is missing.

In Genesis 2:20-23, we are told: "He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man."

“At last!” the man exclaimed.

None of us have recovered from the surgery. We are haunted by Eve. She is wonderful. She is a mystery. The beauty of Eve is captivating. She feels like such a challenge to our masculinity. Learning to fight for the heart of a woman is absolutely core to what it means to be a man.

There is something so beautiful and inspiring about a woman.

When it comes to the woman we will fall in love with, the woman we want to marry and spend our life with, nothing can get the attention of a man like the beauty of a woman.

Beauty, Love, Sex—these things run deep in men, and they can feel like the biggest dilemma of our lives. If we look to a woman for affirmation, or validation, it gets really messy. A real man goes to a woman to offer his strength, not to try and get his strength from her.

God made us warriors to fight for the hearts of the women in our lives. It takes courage to love. It takes resilience and a fierce heart, but this is what we are made for. To be the warrior on her behalf. To invite her into a great adventure.

A woman doesn’t want to be the adventure. She wants to be invited up into one.
