Old Church Basement: Returning to Simple Worship

DAY 7 OF 12

COME AGAIN

I’ll wait for You to come

I’ll wait for You to come

Cause when I’m with You Lord

It always leaves me wanting more

Here’s our praise

You can dwell within

Come again

What is your heart full of?

If we're honest with ourselves, for most of us the answer may not be something we're necessarily proud of.

You can't stop thinking about the news. You fill your mind with updates from your social media timelines. You worry about your children or your health or the future of your career.

For many of us, our minds and hearts are full of things that leave us empty.

The good news? God can do miracles with empty things.

God longs to fill your heart. You are his creation and His child. No matter how far away you drift from Him or how long it's been since you connected with Him, He still waits patiently at the door and knocks.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” - Revelation 3:20

The Lord longs to be close to you, to share His best with you. But He will never force himself into your life or your heart.

Is there space in your life for Christ to come and dwell in it?

Or have you filled your heart and mind with so many other things, your pursuits, your worries, and anxieties, that there is no room?

Whatever you are full of today, the glory of the Lord is better. The glory of God is the beauty that comes from His character. It is one of the many reasons that He deserves our worship.

Our glory, our pursuits, and our accomplishments are temporary. Everything this world glorifies and celebrates is.

Some things may feel important and permanent right now, but those are not the things that will last.

God’s glory will never pass away. It is always relevant. It always exists and it is always with us.

Whether you are tired, empty, or anxious today, seek the Lord. When we run out of strength, hope, and faith the Lord never runs out. He loves when we're empty.
