Walk Through The Bible 365 - MaySample
The Greater Power
Today, we are involved with the story of David, Jonathan, and King Saul. Did you notice that King Saul promised his son Jonathan that he would not harm David? But alas, an evil spirit came upon Saul and he tried to spear David to death. After David's escape, Saul sent three different groups at different times to capture the fugitive. With no results, Saul himself went and this is the exciting part: he prophesied as the ones before him!
The Hebrew word for prophesying is "naba'" which means "under the influence of divine spirit." One moment we see an evil spirit influencing Saul and the next scene, our Divine Holy God - All Mighty and Powerful - bring these men under His anointing! Family members, bosses, colleagues, and whomever we find troublesome - God can bring them under His influence.
Prayer: Mighty Father, Your Mercy endures forever and I am forever thankful that You will handle every difficult person in my life. You created them in Your image and I give myself to You so that Your Will be done. Please pour out Your Spirit on all flesh in order that we come under Your influence. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
