DAY 4 OF 5

FREEDOM IN THE SPIRIT

The signature of the Holy Spirit is freedom. Where He is, there freedom is. He gives us freedom to see God and freedom to be transformed into the image of Christ. A person or environment that carries the presence of God will always exude freedom.

Every human being desires freedom — young people, old people, successful people and struggling people. People are desperately searching for freedom, they’re trying in all sorts of ways and places — but true freedom is found only through Christ. We who have the Holy Spirit living within us are being transformed into God’s very own image, and so our lives reflect His FREEDOM.

When others observe our lives they should see that we carry ourselves differently to the world. John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." God’s freedom allows us to head into the future with strength, grace, and a sense of peace and safety.

When we live from THIS freedom we are released from those things that the world is entangled in — fear of man, comparison, anxiety and hopelessness, hate and unforgiveness, sin, fear of death or disease, money or having enough, the list goes on. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom — what a gift to us!

Especially in the current climate of the world, let’s make sure we are truly LIVING in this freedom so that we can represent the nature of God to others — our lives, radiant and attractive with the living hope and freedom we have in Christ!

Questions:

What areas of your life are entangled that you need to invite the Holy Spirit into?
