We Are Victors

We love to see the good triumph, especially after a close battle. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Mission: Impossible, Superman, Wonder Woman. It’s all in the balance, back and forwards and then the hero/heroine comes through and conquers for the good of all humanity.

Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, a victory has been won. This is what God has done for us. God has acted to save and restore His people. Satan has lost, beaten, defeated, and victory is claimed. Don’t believe otherwise, because it’s not true. It’s not in the balance with there being uncertainty as to who will win. We are able to claim the victory in Jesus.

So as Paul writes (quoting Isaiah 25:8 and Hosea 13:14), stand firm, give your work to the Lord because that work is not in vain. This is completely awesome! We have victory and eternal life because of Jesus. The perishable has been clothed with imperishable – clothed in the eternal life that God offers. So we give ourselves fully to the work of our Lord. 

Thank you Lord that you make all things new. Thank you for the victory and power in your Name. Amen.
