'Ouch! That Hurts' - Finding Emotional Healing

DAY 4 OF 7

Healing of the mind 🧠

Did you know your mind can be healed and refreshed by the presence of God? Your mind is the computer terminal of your entire life. It can be corrupted. It can have a virus. It can be full of garbage and useless information. Or it can become your greatest strength.

The book of Ephesians reveals a secret to the power of your mind: “...be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” (Chapter 4:23, NKJV).

You can be completely renewed by the healing of your mind. In fact, the Bible says our mind has a spirit. Your human spirit dwells in your mind. Change your mind, and you’ll change your spirit. I discovered this secret as a young man. It helped heal my whole life, and it transformed my spirit.

Zig Ziglar, an American author, once said, “It is your attitude, more than your aptitude, that will determine your altitude.” Healing starts with your mind. If you change your mind, you can change your emotions and your choices.

I started my journey in a very practical way: I invited the Spirit of God to fill my human spirit. Wow! He did it. The Bible says, “‘If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?’” (Luke 11:11, NKJV)

The second thing I did was to memorize truths from the Bible about God and about myself. These truths started to replace the old lies of my past that had crippled me.

The third thing I worked on was forgiving my dad, myself and others who had hurt me. In other words, I got rid of corrupt files.

The fourth thing required the help of my mentor in reinterpreting my experiences, identity and past. This practice helped me get rid of deadly internal viruses that were causing me to live in fear and rejection.

You can be totally healed. Start by renewing your mind.

You’re a miracle.

About this Plan

'Ouch! That Hurts' - Finding Emotional Healing

The first step of any emotional healing is to admit you are hurt. Denial and pride are a vicious combination that stops us from admitting hurt or personal pain. In this reading plan, writer Paul Marc Goulet shares about this topic and how you can deal with it.
