Church Without Walls - Church Is Where You Are

DAY 5 OF 5

The way you work can change the world - being a disciple at your workplace

If we understand and experience what God is like as our boss, it will be so much easier for us to speak about this God and represent Him wherever we are. As a result, we want others to know this God as well.

No matter in which field we work, whether in business, politics, media, entertainment and art, education and parenting, in the family, or in sports, we are called to be a light everywhere and we all have a mission!

Jesus pronounces his well-known Great Commission and it applies to us today as well. Instead of viewing this Commission as a privilege and something normal, we sometimes find it difficult to be a witness for God in our work and to live out and experience the kingdom of God in our work. In our quiet time or at church we are reminded of this, but then again a minor everyday problem is enough to devastate us and we are no longer convinced about our being blessed and called.

"The enemy comes to steal, slaughter and destroy" (John 10:10). To prevent this, we can take active steps:

- Have regular quality time with God: ask him what He's like as a boss and how He seeh you!

- Take Jesus with you to work, talk to him about your tasks, invite him into your meetings, bless your colleagues and customers

- Network with people in similar professions and encourage each other with prayer and practical tips!

Prayer, Get Free and Next Step:

Talk to Jesus about a specific next step for the coming work week. You may want to re-activate your network or pray for a specific task. Maybe it's up to you to start blessing your boss daily.

Dan 4

About this Plan

Church Without Walls - Church Is Where You Are

Work can be the sphere where we proclaim God's glory and where people see in our lives that we are letting God lead us. Work can be the place where we help people and are a light by what we do and how we do it. Sounds simple in theory, however the reality is often different. What can stop us from turning the workplace into a dynamic place of worship?
