Seeing With God

DAY 1 OF 5

As a Pastor's kid, my childhood dream was to hear from God. I would watch my mother display this sense of knowing as she went along her daily routines. If we lost something, she would ask the Holy Spirit to show her and within a matter of minutes, she would always find what we were looking for. I admired her relationship with God so much. I would catch her whispering prayers above me as she braided my hair. I felt like God loved talking to my mom and I wanted Him to speak to me too!

I asked my mother to teach me how to hear from God on many occasions. I wanted to know what His voice sounded like. And as I grew older, I wanted to have clear directions for my life. As I have grown in my own relationship with God, I have learned of His desire to communicate with me. Not only does He want to speak to me, but He also wants to show me things. He is a show and tell God. He has many ways of communicating with our hearts.

As you read through this devotion for the next 5 days, remind yourself of this often: Seeing what God desires to show you is not about having the gift of prophecy or another spiritual ability. Seeing what God offers is all about the simplicity of your relationship with Him. When you invite Him into your everyday life, He'll tell you things that you never imagined. Why? Because friends share secrets with each other. Your Father/Friend wants to share some "great and mighty" secrets with you.

"Call unto me..." in Jeremiah 33:3 is God's way of telling you and I to invite Him into our space. Begin exercising your faith today by inviting Him to show you things by his Holy Spirit. He has exciting things to share!

About this Plan

Seeing With God

We often spend most of our prayer time listening for God's voice, but there is more! God wants to speak to us, but He also wants to show us some things as well. Open the eyes of your understanding and allow God to show you heaven's plans for your life. Are you ready to see what He sees about you?
