The Joy of the Lord

DAY 4 OF 14

The Joy That Leads to Worship by Pastor Matt Higa

Senior Pastor of New Hope Kauai – Kauai, Hawaii

Scripture

Psalm 30:4-5, "Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning."

Observation

I like the phrase "sing to the Lord all you Godly ones". I pray you will are moved like I am an join me in expressing my gratitude and praise unto God Almighty by rejoicing! He might be disappointed in us for a moment "BUT" His favor is upon us all of our lives! Tough, dark, hard times are temporary because JOY comes in the morning so take your mind and focus off of the bad trips and start trippin’ out on God's Grace, Mercy and Love. "The Joy of The Lord" is my strength. This constant gladness is my "maoz"-the greek word for strength which means a place of safety, protection and refuge! Rejoice!

Application

This scripture is a good reminder for me that I need to live knowing that God's joy, not human happiness, is what shifts my heart to a posture of worship! Regardless of current circumstances in uncertain times, praising God with His Joy is our weapon against the enemy and a source of our strength. I also must not conjure up this type of Joy by my own means but know that this comes from one source and one source only...Jesus!!! Rejoice!

Prayer

Father God Almighty, all glory and honor is Yours! Thank you for blessing us with Your Joy. We celebrate, sing and rejoice because You are so gracious in bestowing Your Favor upon us and we anticipate more joy in the morning. We rejoice in You!! We pray that You will continue to show us how to rejoice in You for You are our strength. Amen!

Scripture

Dan 3Dan 5
