Devotional: GOD’S PROVISION
Let’s say you were to count roughly how many times you actively came to God this year to ask Him for what you do not have and compare that to how many times you actively just came before God to thank Him for what you do have — what would that ratio be?
It’s easy to ignore what’s obvious, available, and accessible to us because our focus tends to be on that which we desire to have. But Jesus reminds His disciples, much like He would like to remind us today, to look at the lilies in the field and see how beautifully adorned they are. He points out nature as an example, asking us to have faith in Him, our Creator, to enrich our lives with timely provision.
Can we take a moment to thank God for that timely provision, and for giving us things that we take for granted that is perhaps someone else’s earnest prayer and heartfelt desire?
Journaling Prompt: LILLIES.
Employ your creativity to paint, draw, sketch, or even write about lilies today in your journal entry. Use nature as an inspiration to remind yourself to be grateful for God’s provision in your life and everything you already possess.
