Devotional: YOUR BLESSINGS
If every good and perfect gift is from God, we certainly have LOTS of reasons to thank God.
Most of us are familiar with this Sunday School song, “Count your blessings, name them one by one,” but somehow, we don’t count our blessings simply because we don’t recognize a lot of things around us as blessings. We take for granted that a lot of things we have at hand are just always there and only notice their value when they are absent.
Today, pause and look around you. Evaluate your current circumstances in life. What are all the good and perfect things that you enjoy but perhaps haven’t thanked God for? It could be clean drinking water, good Wi-Fi connectivity, decent food, warm blankets, an affectionate pet, a doting spouse, a warm conversation with a friend, timely words of affirmation from someone you love, a bear hug, a flowering plant… the list can go on and on.
Journaling Prompt: RAIN
Like raindrops in a heavy downpour of rain, His blessings over our lives are too many to count. However, we can stop to listen to the rain and take in the fresh smell of how it’s changed the ground on which it’s fallen.
As you journal with this prompt today, thank God for His abundant rain of blessings on your life.
