DAY 19 OF 28

Sojourners, Widows, And The Fatherless

When you do a Biblical search of the scriptures in reference to sojourners, widows, and the fatherless, you will find that God, our Father cares for them and gives specific instructions for their welfare. There are blessings for those who help these and curses for those who pervert justice due them. Whatever or however their situation came about, one thing is clear; they need assistance and God wants His people to take care of them. They will not be abandoned, neglected, forgotten, or mistreated. Jesus knows full well how they feel as He experienced the Cross. Jesus, God’s Son, was “fatherless” for a time when He uttered his cry of abandonment. As believers, we have an assigned responsibility to care for them – do you know someone to help, today?

Prayer: This is the day You have made, Lord, and I rejoice in it. When You send a widow, a fatherless child, or sojourner my way, let me see the need and minister to them as You would. Jesus, let my life be fruitful for Your glory. Amen.
