The Great Commandment
When questioned as to what was the greatest commandment, Jesus gave us two - Love God and love your neighbour. And the Apostle John in his first epistle shows the relationship between these two commandments because anyone who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen and therefore whoever loves God must love his brother. Let us love our brother, our neighbour and let us demonstrate this in our actions - by helping others, by forgiving, by being generous, by willing to sacrifice ourselves. And parallel to this, let us love God through our worship and our obedience to His commandments - love God and love your neighbour - the greatest commandments.
Prayer: Lord God, we want to love you and our neighbour with all that we are and have - help us to do this. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
