Depart From EvilSample
Wise Men Fear The Lord.
“A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.” Proverbs 14:16 (KJV)
The wise fear and honor God — and avoid evil. The foolish runs towards danger. In fact, Proverbs 14:16 (NLT) declares, “The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.” The foolish are reckless. Surround yourself with wise Counsel. Surround your house with those who seek and pursue Christ. Choose to pursue Christ.
Psalms 1:6 (KJV) declares, “For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” The way of the ungodly shall perish. Choose to honor God with all of your heart and follow His Way of doing things. Psalms 92:12 (KJV) declares, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” The righteous shall flourish. When you surrender your ways to Christ — He will stabilize your path.
Proverbs 16:7 (KJV) declares, “When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Surrender to Christ and watch God cause your enemies to be at peace. Proverbs 1:7 (KJV) declares, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” The fear, honor, and reverence of the Lord is the starting point. The wise will choose to submit, honor, and pattern their lives after Christ. Choose Christ.
