GO2020 | ENGAGE: June Week 1 - ABIDESample
June 3—Church Life
Read
Acts 2:42-47
Reflect
Today’s reading takes us to the very first days of the church. Following the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and the conversion of around 3000 people in response to Peter’s sermon, the new believers were welcomed, taught and discipled by the original followers of Jesus. The believers were devoted to four things: the apostles’ teaching (God’s words), the fellowship (God’s people), the breaking of bread (communion), and prayer. God strengthened the new converts through these means. We are called to do likewise. One of the ways that you can encourage the new believers in your life is by doing a Discovery Bible Study with them. You can find more information at discoverapp.org.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, 2 Timothy 2:2. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
Fulfilling the Great Commission does not happen by dropping gospel grenades and walking away. We fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples who are trained and equipped to also make disciples! This is multiplication! We teach new believers to obey all Jesus commanded. This will take time, commitment, and energy.
