Yes I Will From Vertical Worship

DAY 1 OF 3

Not Done Yet

As Christians, we have a hope that is different from the hope of the world. Maybe you remember being a kid and hoping that enough snow would fall overnight so you could stay home from school the next day. Or as an adult, hoping to get the promotion you have been working towards.

In those situations, we don’t have a confidence in the outcome we’re hoping for. Our hope in God removes a big part of the guessing game. Though we may not know what the future will bring, we know the one who holds the future. He’s a promise maker (Hebrews 10:23). And He keeps every promise, because He can’t deny Himself (2 Tim. 2:13).

We must think and see through the lens of eternity—not just the here and now. God’s Word tells us that He’s doing something in us currently. He says that He has begun a good work in us (Philippians 1:6). But God doesn’t start things and not finish them. We read later in Philippians 1:6 that He’s going to complete that good work that He’s started. This is why we can have hope. We’re running the race that He’s set before us. Let us run it with perseverance and endurance! No matter what the terrain of the day is like, let us run the race. Whether we find ourselves in the sunshine or the darkness, let us run the race. We run because we know that we will see the finish line. It’s not over; He’s not done. Therefore, we have hope.

Our life as Christians isn’t promised to be easy. In fact, God’s Word tells us that trials are going to come our way. It’s amazing to think that many of these authors in the Bible who wrote about hope, faith, and trusting God were writing from prison cells—some of whom were awaiting execution. Paul literally wrote “for me to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).

So we hope in who God is and all of His promises. Let us rejoice always that His work in us isn’t finished. And let us be filled with joyful expectation of His eternal presence in Heaven. We have so, so much to look forward to, and it’s going to be awesome.

About this Plan

Yes I Will From Vertical Worship

As Christians, we have a hope that is different from the hope of the world. Though we may not know what the future will bring, we know the one who holds the future. He’s a promise maker (Hebrews 10:23) and keeps them because He can’t deny Himself (2 Tim. 2:13). Join us as we study God's Word and proclaim "Yes I Will" in giving Him praise. -Vertical Worship
