Motivation For The Great Commission

DAY 3 OF 7

Day 3: Where the Power Comes From

In fact, this conversation about motivation for mission brings us back to a key question: “Where does the power come from for all God asks us to do?”

The Great Commission is often recited in incomplete form. Many will recite our call “to make disciples of all nations” but leave out some very important phrases.

In pondering Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:18-20, it becomes evident that the most important part of the Great Commission is the part that tells where the power comes from. The authority and power for reaching the world for Christ rests with Christ!

Consider Jesus’ final words of the commissioning, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We cannot stress enough the importance of being fully devoted and vitally united with Jesus.

Motivation For The Great Commission
