THE NEXT SPIRIT

You will always end up living where your spirit calls home.

At the centre of whether we will ENTER IN to the life God promised us is the question, "where does your spirit call home?" 

Our life can be shaped and defined by various experiences, circumstances, people that surround us. As these influences shape us, they can shape our attitude and outlook on life, or another way you could say it is: they determine our spirit. That is of utmost importance because your spirit will determine your destiny. 

YOUR ATTITUDE/SPIRIT DEFINES YOUR DESTINY

This is what set Caleb (and Joshua) apart from the rest of their generation. The Bible describes Caleb as having a "different spirit". You could say he had a "next" spirit because in his heart he trusted God and believed His promises. Caleb's attitude was that he would possess the Promised Land, it was just a matter of when, not if. He proved to be correct. Caleb was tenacious, as we will discuss again later in this plan, and he lived a life of worship, which caused his spirit to get beyond the challenges of his circumstances and find a home in God's promises. Caleb experienced the promises of God in his life. You can too! 

When you have a different spirit, you already live in the promises of God in your heart.

When you have a different spirit, you are no longer just part of the crowd, influenced by circumstances, instead your destiny is determined by your belief in God's promises.

When you have a different spirit, you live beyond the problems you may face and make a home in God's promises.

When you have a different spirit, you are following God into your promised land.

Right now, would you describe yourself as a "wilderness-dweller", or "Promised Land possessor" ?

PRAY:

God, I want to ENTER IN to the life You have for me. I want to experience your promises and walk out your purpose for my life. Help me to let go of the old mindsets and to not be defined by situations and circumstances. I want to spend more time in Your presence so that my spirit will be at home in your promises.
