Serving Those Who Are In Crisis

DAY 9 OF 14

“Keep Cool, Trust God”

What if you are part of a group that is in the midst of a catastrophic storm like a hurricane? What you would do to help others survive? Paul rode through a potentially disastrous storm while he and others were on a ship in the Mediterranean Sea. There, typhoon-force winds caused the crew to lose control of the ship. The crew began to lose hope that they would survive.

Here are some things that Paul did to assist an entire shipload of people to survive. First, Paul kept his head and used his experience in sailing on the Mediterranean to give practical advice to the crew. He persisted even though, at first, his advice was ignored. Ultimately, the people listened to him, because he knew what he was talking about.

Paul waited for God to speak at the darkest hour. After the men had given up hope, God revealed to Paul that all those aboard would be saved. And Paul took a firm stand for God, telling everyone that he believed God. If you are caught in the middle of a natural disaster (or even a manmade one), would you be able to keep your cool as Paul did? If so, how?

About this Plan

Serving Those Who Are In Crisis

Are you serving others as Christ intended that you should do? Every Christian is called on to serve. We can do that by helping people who are going through crisis. We don’t have to look far to find people in distress. These devotions offer encouragement, support and practical pointers for showing mercy to the hurting.
