What’s Buried Within The Soil Of Your Heart?

DAY 4 OF 7

Clothed And In His Right Mind.

“And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.” Mark‬ ‭5:2-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

According to Mark 5:2-5 KJV, this man was possessed by demons. In fact, according to Mark 5:9 KJV, this man was possessed by so many demons that the unclean spirits referred to themselves as — “Legion”. In other words, the unclean spirits had made this man their dwelling place.

For some time, this man had been bound by unclean spirits that overtook him. In fact, according to Mark 5:5 KJV, these unclean spirits had this man physically, spiritually, emotionally and psychologically bound. Mark 5:5 KJV states how this man was so bound that he isolated himself and began cutting himself near the tombs (i.e. the cemetery). The enemy wants to keep you isolated. Like this man, the enemy wants to keep you in bondage. This enemy wants to keep you tormented by the bondage and the dead things of the past. Let the past go.

What’s dwelling in the ground of your heart? What bondage of the past is contaminating the soil of your heart? What has your heart bound? What guilt, shame, defeat, hurt or condemnation of the past is weighing you down? Forgive, move forward and wash your heart with the Word of God.

Notice what happened in Mark 5:15 KJV when the unclean spirit came into contact with Christ: “And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.” The man who was once tormented by the bondage of the past was clothed and in his right mind. The man who was once bound by the bondage of the past was at peace and sitting at the feet of Jesus. Stay at His feet. Cast your cares, worries, and anxiety over to Him and He will clothe you and keep you in your right mind.
