Famous In Heaven And At HomeSample

Famous In Heaven And At Home

DAY 3 OF 7

This analogy of going to great lengths to provide forces us to wrestle with the question, “Am I willing to do whatever it takes to ensure my family is well provided for?”

And provision goes so much deeper than just money. This is about understanding the depth of the influence and impact we have inside our home.

This is a world that prioritizes platforms, being known and finding your “calling.” But what about prioritizing what you’ve been unquestionably called to?

Consider that phrase: “unquestionably called to.” We each have callings on our lives that we never have reason to doubt because there are certain assignments God has given to no one else.

No one else can handle your walk with Christ.

No one else can be the wife to your husband.

No one else can be the mother to your children.

Instead of seeing these things as “insignificant” just because they’re largely unknown and unrecognized, what if we remained in awe that the God of the universe reserved these unique assignments ONLY for us?

Just as we see the Proverbs 31 woman serving in the marketplace and making wise investments, there is absolutely room for us to serve God outside of our homes as He calls us. However, our impact outside of our home should never be pursued in place of stewarding our influence within our home.

Remember the promise in Luke 16:10: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

If God can’t trust us in the assignments that He has graciously granted to us alone, why would He have reason to give us more?

God, no matter what season I’ve been in, I’ve struggled to pursue my highest callings – the tasks that You have given to no one else but me. Lead me to a place that longs to make You famous and to be famous within the walls of my home. If there’s anything in our lives that seeks our own fame over Your glory, strip it from me for the sake of Your eternal Kingdom that matters so much more than my fleeting existence. I desperately need You at work in me. Remind me of this truth daily. I love You. Amen.

About this Plan

Famous In Heaven And At Home

Proverbs 31 is often mistaken as an unattainable job description when it's actually a character description of a woman of God's standard. Rather than seeking something worthy to do, this seven-day devotional helps us dig into this well-known passage in a new way: to passionately pursue who God purposely created us to be.
