Running From The HeartSample
The Holy Spirit
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17, NKJV)
Through her life, Rebecca learned more and more to live a life that depended on the Holy Spirit to guide and help her on the path God planned for her. Rebecca wrote in her journal,
“Dear Father, can I please be someone that your Holy Spirit rests on and in. As I carry God’s Holy Spirit, you are my strength, I am not alone, you are my helper, and you are with me and for me. I ask that you help me to be led by your Spirit and not by my flesh. Amen.
A Precious gift is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life. He is a sweet and rich and deep treasure.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I want all of these!”
Selah
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses. (Acts 1:8)
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19)
The most important relationship in your life is with God. God never intended that you try and follow Jesus on your own – there is too much against you. When you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit came to live in your heart. He will guide you and give you the strength to follow Christ and be a witness for Him.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 means we can regularly ask God to fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit.
What are the things that are stopping you from asking the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh today?
Passing the Baton:
Pray for God’s help, and more help, to be desperate for God’s presence in your life.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, please fill me with your Holy Spirit today that I may love what you love and do what you would do. Breathe on me, breath of God; until I am totally yielded to you, until this Earthly part of me glows with your divine fire, until this life that I now live is not mine but yours. In Jesus name, I come to you in prayer and worship. Amen.
