All In The Family

DAY 3 OF 5

How does this story make you feel? Upset? Angry? Maybe you thought, “how could he do that!? He was just forgiven a huge debt. That little debt is nothing”.

But, before you judge the man in the story - have you ever this?

God has forgiven you of your many failures and mistakes and yet we often refuse to forgive those in our lives. Sometimes, the mistake just seems too big to forgive. Or, we just can’t seem to get over it and so we hold back forgiveness.

However, forgiven people forgive people. No exceptions.

Forgiven people forgive their siblings when they do that thing that makes them mad for the thousandth time.

Forgiven people forgive their step-parents when they seem overly strict and ask you to do something that seems stupid and unnecessary.

Forgiven people forgive their dad for being 30 minutes late to pick them up from practice.

Forgiven people forgive their parents for the divorce.

This might catch other people off guard. It might cause them to think, “what’s up with them? How could they forgive them for that? Why would they forgive them for that?” It’s not the “normal” thing to do.

But, by forgiving others, you can give them a taste of what Jesus is all about. You can help them see that there is a better way to live and give them a small taste of what God is like.

Who do you need to forgive today?

About this Plan

All In The Family

Families argue, fight, have disagreements, get on each others’ nerves, and embarrass each other. We have to learn how to get along with and love our families despite these things. By modeling our lives after Jesus and following the guidance found within the Bible, we can become better sons, daughters, and siblings to those in our earthly families and those in God’s family.
