Who Is God?Sample
God is Unchanging
As we saw yesterday God is independent of the world. His independence from the world also means he isn’t changed by it.
In the Psalms we see that God remains the same – he does not change. He is already complete, he doesn’t need to grow in anything, he is perfect, there is nothing that would improve God – it is therefore a good thing that he doesn’t change.
However in the Psalms we also see that God’s unchanging nature does not mean that he doesn’t work to make changes in the world – for it says he will change the earth and the heavens like a garment. But he himself does not change.
God’s unchanging nature means that we can depend on his promises.
What promises of God can I hold onto at work or as I care for my family today?
For help see:
John 14:2-3 (Heaven)
Rom 8:28 (God works for good of those who love him)
Rom 8:38-39 (God’s love)
Eph 1:13-14 (Inheritance)
Phil 4:6-7 (Peace)
Prayer:
Thank you that you are good and you do not change. Help me to remember and trust your promises to me. Amen.
