Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 11Sample

Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 11

DAY 27 OF 30

Paul finishes his letter on resurrection then requests donations for the Jerusalem poor. Stephanas and friends return to Corinth with this letter. Paul sends Timothy and Erastus on to Macedonia. He and the rest of his team, which includes Luke, eventually follow them after trouble caused by the idol makers in Ephesus.

Note 1 (Acts 19:22): While in Ephesus Paul heard some alarming news from Corinth so he made a quick visit by boat. It is a painful and sad visit (2 Corinthians 2:1, 12:14, 13:2). On his return to Ephesus he writes a harsh letter, which Titus delivers. This harsh letter, which is now lost, is referred to in 2 Corinthians 2:4 and 7:8.

Note 2 (Acts 20:1): Before going on to Macedonia, Paul and his reduced team stayed a short time in Troas encouraging the believers there and hoping Titus would meet them and give a good report on Corinth (2 Corinthians 2:12–13).
