The Lord Who Heals You

DAY 20 OF 21

WHAT ABOUT JOB?

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives…

Many suggest that God put sickness on Job or refused to heal him but it was the devil who brought the calamity and God did heal Job but first, brought him into a greater revelation of Himself before his full restoration.

Job was an upright man who sought God which shows that adversity or sickness does not mean that someone has some hidden sin in their life as Job’s friends, and some Christians, wrongly imply. Sickness or adversity are present in the earth because of the Fall and Satan’s presence in the Earth; and find their healing or deliverance through the Person of Jesus Christ. We don’t have all the answers as to why good people can suffer but know that in the worst case of suffering, God was there and redeemed the situation.

Job’s sufferings, all of which come under the curse of the law which we have been redeemed from, show that no matter how good a person is or how many sacrifices they make for God it is not sufficient to combat the effects of the curse that came upon the earth through sin.

However, we have a Saviour, Jesus, who has defeated sin, the curse and all the powers of darkness for us in His magnificent salvation. His finished work, when we receive it, is enough to combat sin, sickness and the devil.

We cannot be compared to Job when we live under a different covenant (Hebrews 8:6), in a different kingdom (Colossians 1:13,14), with better promises and blessings.

Job lived before the written Word and had to operate from his own understanding and what God would reveal directly to him. His statement that came from his initially wrong perspective that ‘The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away’ is quoted by so many Christians despite the fact the Bible reveals that Satan did the taking.

In Job 42:5, Job says, ‘I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you.” He had a revelation of God and was seeing Him from a God revealed perspective which then brought Job into receiving all that God had for him- healing, blessing and restoration.

About this Plan

The Lord Who Heals You

Jesus provided healing for us just as much as forgiveness through His finished work of the Cross. God has not made this difficult to receive but a simple faith that focuses on seeing Jesus and what He has already done for you, positions you for the power of God that is enough to heal 'every kind of sickness and every kind of disease'.
