God Sets You Free

It may feel like pornography has a hold on you. You may even notice that you’ve become addicted to it.

You are not alone. So many people struggle with pornography, and many of them keep it hidden. Since you have already confessed your sin and brought it into the light, you are off to a great start! Now you can begin turning to the Lord to set you free from the grip pornography has on you.

Christ came down to earth so that we could experience a full life with Him, a life without the plague of sin under the freedom of the cross. Jesus took on our guiltiness, the death that we deserved for our sin, and in His resurrection, He defeated it. Now, through the power of His Spirit, we can defeat our sin by following Him.

This is not only your best option for being set free; it’s really the only one. 

Scripture makes it clear that without Christ, sin has a hold on us. We cannot escape on our own, and we need God’s help. This is why He came. This is why He died, and this is why He rose again. With Him, you can overcome your sin. 

The freedom offered in Christ is so much better than the burden of pornography and sin. The suffering you are experiencing as a slave to sin cannot compare to the glorious life that God has planned for you. 

The passages for today look at how much God cares about His people, how much He loves you. As you read them, meditate on His love and cast your cares upon Him, knowing that He can and will save you from your sin. If you turn to Him, He can and will save you from your suffering.
