PRAY:  Father in Heaven, I ask that You not only make it my ambition to lead a quiet life, but that You help me to mind my own business when it comes to the people around me. I pray that you will keep my eyes focused on You and not on my neighbors or the celebrities I watch and talk about from TV, Film, and music. I ask that I live a life that will win the respect of outsiders and that I won't get my identity from others' comments or from comparing myself to the beautiful people in Hollywood. Help me to be content with who You've made me to be and not idolize anyone else whom I think has more. Thank You for creating me to find peace and simplicity in You alone.

REFLECT:  We often complicate our lives by watching people in the news who are bigger than life and appear to have more money, more fame, more beauty and more fun than we do. But it's all an image. We need to understand that people are never what they appear to be and the glitz and glamour of Hollywood seems wonderful, but it's often an empty shell covering up very lonely, sad, confused people. So, catch yourself when watching these people and figure out how to make it your ambition to lead a quiet, simple life and to fulfill all that the Lord has planned for you to accomplish and not to wish we were like someone else. That will win us the respect from outsiders that we want and yet make us not dependent on anybody else as we walk each day with Jesus.

ACT:  Pray right now for the celebrities you follow in the news and ask that they too can fall in love with Jesus and then make it their ambition to lead a quiet peaceful life, amidst the horrible pressures and invasion of their privacy that they deal with as famous people. They need our prayers to handle this unnatural situation that makes their lives horribly complicated and public. Our prayers for them, as we work toward the same goal, can be life-changing for someone you admire but don't even know.
