Coping With Dwindling Finances

DAY 6 OF 7

You can’t change the past. You can’t control the future. The only thing you have is the present. Someone has rightly said that we should regard the present as a present. It is a gift that we hold right now. Of course, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t plan ahead, putting aside a little something for a “rainy day.” That’s wise. What about tomorrow?

PRAY: Help Lord, the things I can’t see and predict are the things that tend to cause me to worry.

Are you being eaten up by the worries of today and tomorrow? Let Jesus speak to you:

READ: Matthew 6:33-34

REFLECT: The Kingdom of God may seem somewhat out of reach in the struggles of your daily life; however, what might it mean to be concerned with that above everything else? What do you think God requires of you? Do you consider it a fair exchange that God would provide all your needs in exchange for that concern?

RESPOND: What can you do today, in the present, that will impact your tomorrow? How can God help you?

About this Plan

Coping With Dwindling Finances

When it seems like your finances are out of control—when it feels like there’s no way to find a sense of peace—you can turn to the solace of Scripture. Even when it seems to us like God doesn’t see our burdens—we discover that he feels our heartaches. He intimately understands our anxieties and worries. And he wants us to bring those worries to him.
