DAY 5 OF 7

Worship Is Warfare

Psalm: 18:34

Our weapon is a melody – Raise a Hallelujah (Jonathan Helser).l descend into battle with power to chase and conquer my foes.

We see Psalm 18 opening with a note stating, “King David composed this Psalm when the Lord rescued David from his many enemies and from the hand of Saul.”

Let’s face it. Today, every one of us who loves Jesus and has accepted Him as our Saviour has an enemy. It is not a man or a woman but the devil who might operate through human beings, famine, poverty, sickness, fear, etc. Ephesians 6:12 says “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

But let me bring to your notice what King David says in this verse: it is that the Lord has trained him with the weapons of warfare-worship.

Yes, Worship is our weapon. Praise is our weapon.

Our weapon is a melody – Raise a Halleluiah (Jonathan Helser).

We have been given the power and authority in the name of Jesus to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, to tread upon the lion and cobra and to trample the great lion and the serpent according to Luke 9 & Psalm 91.

Our praise and worship to Jesus has the power to turn things upside down for the glory of God and for our benefit.

I remember one night while I was worshiping and praising Jesus, my mom suddenly woke up from her sleep and said that she saw in the vision a bunch of demons fleeing from our street as I was singing.

There are many instances in the Bible where worship and praise brought victory to kings and people of Israel but here I would like to share something that I have experienced personally.

In July 2016, after reading a news article about the Latur drought, God burdened us to go to Latur and raise worship and praise to Jesus. We trusted the Word of God in Psalm 67: 5-6 that says “May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.” Along with the Body of Christ in Latur, we worshiped Jesus and prayed, trusting His promise that the land will yield its harvest. According to the news article in Indian Express published on 1st August 2016 “Manjara river, the lifeline of Latur city that was bone dry until last week, is now flowing with full force”

Our God is all powerful.

When we lift Jesus, He steps into our situation. When He intervenes, the battle no longer is ours but it’s His.

A lifestyle of worship is a life of authority knowing that as we worship and praise Jesus we host the King of kings and Lord of lords who is mighty in battle and who trains us for war.

You might be facing a giant like this famine in your family or any other challenge; choose to lift your voice and praise God today, and you will witness a breakthrough in your life and circumstances and you will conquer your foes.

We have authority in the name of Jesus.
