A GOOD WOMAN (AND MAN) IS HARD TO FIND
Proverbs 31 is an incredibly personal and special piece of scripture in my life. For many years, I read Proverbs 31 every day, asking God to help me be this amazing woman that he has described. In my mind, to call someone a Proverbs 31 woman is the ultimate goal and compliment.
I love Proverbs 31 because it is truly a living text. Different pieces of it can be applied to different seasons in life. For example, maybe you are struggling with telling gossip, something that women tend to do! Proverbs 31:26 has an answer for you: “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Perhaps you are figuring out the balance of career, family and overall calling in life. Proverbs 31:16 shows us that we have been gifted with the intellect to pursue passions such as business: “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.”
Today, I encourage you to choose one verse from Proverbs 31 that is a character trait that you’d like to develop. By the way, our brothers in Christ can do this too! Proverbs 31 also talks about men trusting the women in their world (verse 11), being a Godly leader (verse 23) and encouraging Godly women (verse 28).
Come back to your chosen verse daily for one week. Invite God to start refining this aspect of your character. He will be delighted to come alongside you and continue to mold you in his image.

About this Plan
Although the Proverbs seems like a loosely composed wisdom sayings, on a whole they actually present Christians with an opportunity to contemplate Christ who is wisdom in the flesh. The Proverbs that are selected invites you to a practice of 'ora et labora' , we contemplate Christ and work in his world—the essence of Christian life.
