The Lord Is in His Holy Temple
To the choirmaster. Of David.
1In the Lord I take refuge;
how can you say to my soul,
# [1 Sam. 23:14, 19; 24:2; 26:19, 20] “Flee like a bird to your mountain,
2for behold, the wicked #Ps. 7:12; 64:4; [Jer. 9:3] bend the bow;

Ps. 21:12; 58:7; See Ps. 7:10 they have fitted their arrow to the string
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3if #Ps. 82:5; Ezek. 30:4the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”#11:3 Or for the foundations will be destroyed; what has the righteous done?

Ps. 18:6; Mic. 1:2; Hab. 2:20 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord’s #Ps. 2:4; Isa. 66:1; Matt. 5:34; 23:22; Acts 7:49 throne is in heaven;
his eyes see, his eyelids #See Job 23:10test the children of man.
5The Lord #Gen. 22:1; James 1:12 tests the righteous,
but #Ps. 5:5his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
6Let him rain coals on the wicked;

Gen. 19:24; Job 18:15; Ezek. 38:22 fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be #Ps. 75:8; [Job 21:20]the portion of their cup.
7For the Lord is righteous;
he #See Ps. 33:5 loves righteous deeds;
# [Ps. 17:15; 140:13; 1 John 3:2; Rev. 22:4] the upright shall behold his face.
