Day 4 - Move Again In Our Church
God wants to move in our church! Central to the function, operation, and purpose of the Church, is the reality that God is present, active, and moving as we gather.
God doesn’t watch our gathering, He engages with our gathering.
When we gather, we are not simply members of a church with a different brand or name than the one that is down the road. Rather, we are gathering as the people of God. As a people who are partnering with the God of Heaven and Earth to contend and believe for the Kingdom of Heaven on the Earth.
This is why, when we gather we should come with faith and expectation for God to move in our midst, because we are called the people of God. This means our gathering is the perfect place for the God of His people to move.
From the earliest history of the church in Acts, the presence and activity of the Holy Spirit has been within the church. This presence of the Spirit is what makes the gathering powerful, supernatural, and filled with encounter and growth. For the early church, the Spirit was not just a church-building tool, resource, or theological framework. The Spirit was a member of the gathering, a Person in the ranks who was present, active, and alive, moving in and through the lives of those who were gathering.
Why? So the church could fulfill its mission to establish the Kingdom of God on the Earth.
As we catch this in our spirit, we will see our church gathering go from laboursome and chore-worthy to life-giving and heavenly.
Meditation Questions:
- Have you ever been in a church where God was moving among his people? What was happening?
- Why do you think God wants to actively move in your church?
- If God was going to move in your church to a greater level, what might your attitude be towards the Sunday gathering of the saints and midweek gatherings?
O tomto pláne
Over the next few days, we will discover together how God wants to move in our hearts, families, churches, and workplaces. Maybe one of these areas seems more significant to your current season, and you need God to move and break through in a major way. This plan will help us discover and remember that God is able and willing to do more.
