Remember Jesus Christ [Knowing Jesus Series] Ukážka
No one knows the exact age of the universe. Scientists estimate it to be around 13 billion years. The Bible doesn't directly answer this question, but it reveals who the Creator of the universe is. The first verse of Scripture, Genesis 1:1, states, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." God takes center stage, and the Hebrew verb used to describe His creative work is bara'. In the Bible, the verb bara' in its active form is exclusively attributed to God. He is the only one who can create out of nothing (Hebrews 11:3).
But also, this verse shows us that the entire Godhead participated in the creation of all things. The Hebrew noun Elohim, translated as God, presents a singularity here. While it is in its plural form, the verb to which it is connected is in the singular. Here is a reference to the mystery of the Trinity.
Even before taking on human nature, Jesus Christ (the Logos, the Word) participated in the creation of all things (John 1:1-3). The whole universe was created in Jesus, through Jesus, and for Jesus (Colossians 1:16), including our lives. How can we not surrender our lives to Him?
In this way, the Lord Jesus has the centrality of the Bible. The Scriptures begin and end with Him, and we can echo the apostle John's prayer: 'Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!' (Revelation 22:20). The Biblical knowledge of Jesus helps us understand the history of the universe and our relationship with the Creator.
Reflect
Does Jesus take the center of my life? What decisions should I make to give Him that place back?
Pray
Jesus, you are from the beginning. From the foundation of the world, you have loved us. We have been created by you and for you. Today, I ask that you take the center of my life. May you be the focus of my thoughts, the delight of my heart, and the recurring theme of my conversations. Amen.

"Can a Christian forget about Jesus?" The apostle Paul encouraged young Timothy never to stop remembering Jesus Christ. Since we live in a world of distractions, we risk losing our focus on Jesus. Through this devotional plan, I invite you to rediscover the importance of knowing Jesus Christ as he is presented in Scripture. The goal is to keep our lives centered on Him until the end.
