A Biblical Perspective on Death and LifeUkážka
Death is not the end
“… It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment…” (Hebrews 9:27)
When someone dies, it is evident in his or her body. The heart no longer beats, and because the blood no longer flows, the body becomes cold and stiff. Life has slipped out and will never return. Death is final and irreversible.
But physical death is not the end. This is clear from the verse we read today. A human being is so much more than his physical body. In fact, the Bible compares our body to a tent in which we temporarily live. After we die, we exchange that tent for a permanent home. And the judgment of God determines where that dwelling will be: with Him in heaven and later on the new earth, or outside His presence in hell.
It is important to understand that this judgment of God about your eternal destiny is not arbitrary. The Bible is very clear about it. Actually, no one deserves to spend eternity with God because we have ignored and deeply hurt Him with our sins. But everyone who accepts His offer of forgiveness and reconciliation is still welcomed. You must make that choice in this life. You won’t get a second chance after death.
Are you living in the awareness that there is more than just this earthly life?

Death is part of life. Or so we tend to think. But the Lord God has conquered death. He offers us eternal life. Connected to Him, we experience a fullness of life in body and soul.
