Born to Fly Like an Eagle!Ukážka
The Wings
David received a calling from God for his life: Kingship for the nation of Israel.
Do you think when David was herding sheep he expected to one day become a king, let alone believed he was equipped to lead a nation?
Well, it was God’s plan. God pulled David away from his sheep, gave his life new direction, and helped him through the long and arduous character-shaping process.
Like David, transformation to live out your calling doesn’t happen overnight.
It requires action: honing and practicing your talents and, oftentimes, learning new skills.
Think of these talents and skills as the wings of an eagle.
Its wings are awe-inspiring and without them, the eagle wouldn’t be able to function.
It wouldn’t be able to hunt and get food—essentially, it wouldn’t be able to survive.
Flying, as a method of hunting, is a skill.
The eagle is not afraid to take on larger, and perhaps, stronger animals than itself. Can you imagine how practiced it must be to do that? Mastering this hunting technique isn’t easy; it takes time and can be frustrating, but it’s a necessity of life.
Your wings—your skills—ultimately determine whether you can actually reach what you’ve set your gaze on.
One wing can be seen as your aptitude: talents you’re born with and that function no matter what.
The other wing can be seen as the culmination of all the skills you’ve learned.
Train them.
How else can you fly?
Prayer
Thank you so much, Father, for the gifts and talents You’ve given to me. Help me put them to use for Your glory and for the sake of others. Teach me how to fly, how to use my full potential, so that You will eventually say ‘well done, good and faithful servant’.
