Yes, You Have Spiritual GiftsUkážka
You Are Gifted
Do you know the gift(s) you’ve received from God? In four key chapters of the Bible (1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4), God speaks to us of the spiritual gifts that he has given to each of his people. They are called gifts because we don’t deserve them, and they are called spiritual because the Holy Spirit brings those gifts when he enters into a Christian’s heart.
If you’re unsure of your gifts, listen to Peter’s words: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received. . . If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides” (1 Peter 4:10,11).
Peter gives you a clue to figuring out your gifts when he talks about speaking versus serving. Some of us do the most good when we use words. We preach sermons, teach classes, counsel a strained marriage, write sympathy letters, text a struggling friend, welcome a church guest, and share wisdom with a grandchild. Does that sound like you? Others of us do the most good through work that involves few words. We clean the church, design the space, fix the widow’s car, build quality homes, make the meal that brings people together, and show up during their grief. Does that seem to fit?
Figuring out your God-given gifts is the first step in serving others to the glory of God. So, what are your gifts?
